New DHCS Certification Requirements (BHIN 23-058) for SUD Treatment Programs

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has established new certification requirements for all outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment programs. With the implementation of AB 118, compliance is mandatory. Providers who fail to submit their certification applications by the deadline will face penalties. If issued a Notice of Violation (NOV), they will be barred from reapplying for certification for five years.
